A grateful heart is a happy heart and turns what we have in to enough…
I meant to have these to you a few days ago, but in typical ‘Taylor time’ fashion (as we kindly say in our family) these thankful tags are coming just in the nick of time for Thanksgiving. Maybe next year I’ll be #betterprepared.
Honestly, through the hustle and bustle of everyday life these got placed on the back burner. Over the past couple months I’ve co-chaired a Junior League fundraiser, moved in with my in-laws, went through (and cleaned up after) a hurricane, visited family, been trying to catch up at my 9-5 and have been designing for the holiday Paperie + Gifts collection (get excited, it’s coming soon y’all!)
I’ve been a busy woman and it’s taken a slight toll on me, but if there’s anything I’d like to be through this season of change, it’s thankful.
You see, although there were times of pure exhaustion from organizing the fundraiser, I got to connect with not only my community, but with other league members. Through the process I bonded with some pretty amazing women – one’s who are encouraging and lift you up. Friendships like that deserve to be celebrated and I will forever be grateful for the gift of their loving friendship.
While our life is slightly chaotic at the moment, its exciting to see where the road leads us. I’m learning to take it a day at a time, step-by-step (now I have that theme song stuck in my head, ha!) Life will always be moving forward – I struggle with change, whether it be big life changes or small daily routine changes, but I’m constantly reminded that change can be good. Change can lead to opportunities you never thought were there.
The season of Thanksgiving is upon us, let’s take a moment to recognize the blessings in life we are most grateful for. I truly believe that honoring the little things in life can make the most impact on our hearts.
I love expressing gratitude, and these printable tags make it easy to practice thankfulness each day leading up to Thanksgiving (or even just day of). They serve as a wonderful reminder of the things we should never take for granted. This year I placed our tags in a pretty bowl by the front door to serve as a reminder to fill one out. It allows us a few moments of thoughtful reflection.
But what can you do with them?
There are a few different ways, pick one (or two) that works best for your family.
WAYS TO USE YOUR THANKFUL TAGS
- Put one at each place setting on your Thanksgiving table
- Poke holes in the top and hang as a tag to create a Thankful tree
- Days leading up to Thanksgiving place filled out cards in a separate bowl/jar and read aloud during Thanksgiving dinner – make it a game by trying to guess who filled out the tag!
- Create a thankful banner by hanging twine across your mantel and attach tags with clothes pins
- Tape to your bathroom mirror for a daily reminder
- Use as lunch box notes
TO CREATE THE TAGS: print on cardstock (this is one of my favorites), cut around the edges, punch a hole at the top, and attach string or yarn through the hole opening.
I hope these cards encourage you to have an attitude of thankfulness. It’s such a wonderful tradition to have and one I am looking forward to sharing for years to come.
Each of our lives are different and our hearts are uniquely our own – I’d love to hear/see what you are grateful for this year. Please feel free to share in the comments below or tag me in your Instagram photo with #EPblog.
Both tags can be printed by signing up below! Simply download the PDFs, print, and trim. Place in a pretty bowl or hang from a tree – branches in a pretty vase work just fine.
Happy Thanksgiving sweet friends – I am so very thankful for you!
