I’m not sure if you’re like me, but I’m constantly defining my home decor style and being inspired by all the new findings I come across. Sure I lean towards certain color schemes, however there are moments when I want to change things up all together (most times a little tweak will suffice). A home should be a representation of you, what you love, and what makes you comfortable.
Eric and I have lived in rentals for the last 5 years so I’ve been hesitant to purchase anything “permanent” out of fear that it won’t fit in with my home decor tastes whenever we do have a home all our own. This has presented some challenges when trying to make a house feel like a home, but overtime I have come to decorate a home (no matter how temporary) that represents us all while have the flexibility to adapt and change.
My secret? Printable art prints.
The perfect gallery wall or display art piece can be costly (sorry, I’m just not ready to invest) and printable art prints have been the answer I’ve been searching for. I’ve fallen in LOVE with the options I find and they allow my to update my home with the changing of the seasons, for special occasions, or when I’m itching for something new. Most options are relatively inexpensive and there are even prints you can get for free.
What exactly is a printable art print?
A printable art print is an instant digital file (typically in PDF format) that you download and print from either your home or through a print shop. I’ll be talking more about printing and paper options in the near future.
Instant downloads are growing in popularity among sites like Etsy and in the blogging world. Search Pinterest and you’ll literally find hundreds of options. You will need the most recent version of Adobe Reader to view and print your download. Make sure that it is set as your computers default PDF viewer.
Don’t want to hassle with printing it yourself?
Keep in mind that you can always send your download to a local printer to have it printed for you – again we will talk more about that later on in the series.
Where to find printable art prints
My favorite place to find art prints is through Etsy, if you search ‘printable art‘ you’ll find a variety of types. Some are strictly patterns, shapes, illustrations, etc. While others are typography (quotes & lyrics) or a combination of the two. Trust me you’ll have options when it comes to picking a favorite quote and there are shops that offer custom prints as well. I’ve also found great art prints through blogs, searching Pinterest, and interacting on Instagram.
Designers you’ll want to check out (in no particular order)

02 || Yellow Bliss Road

Aren’t these so fun?! Seriously, I find more and more options each day. This is just a small sampling of what is out there. Now that you are privy to printable art prints I’ll soon be walking you through the steps of choosing the correct paper for your print, how to print your new piece of art, and using art prints as decoration in your home. Until then, take a look around Etsy and Pinterest – I’d love to see what you find!
