Hi friends! I’m so happy you found your way in to my little corner of the internet. When I’m writing a post, I write it for friends – I write it for you. If we knew each other in person we’d probably meet up for some vino (I prefer red), share a charcuterie board, laugh, and chat away. Only have a few minutes? I’m game for grabbing a quick cup of coffee too.
Some of you may be family and friends (thanks for the support!), but Eight Pepperberries is a fairly new blog so most of you may not know me on a personal level. Let’s change that! Whatever avenue brought you here (I’m looking at you Instagram & Pinterest) – welcome! I’m so happy you stopped by and I hope that we become great friends.
This may feel all first day of schoolish, but I want to properly introduce myself. So here’s me, my life, and what I’m all about. I’ll start with the basics.
- My initials are KAT and they will always be KAT thanks to my awesome husband having the same last name as my maiden name. Yes, that’s right I didn’t have to change my name when I got married. I will be Kaitlin Taylor for-ev-er.

I come from what I like to call a modern blended family. My parents are divorced and through the years my sister and I have been blessed to gain three new sisters (no need for the step or half labels, we’re all family). Branching off from these sisters I’ve become the proud aunt to two nieces and two nephews. My nieces are my mini-me’s, seriously my youngest niece looks a lot like me – I guess we’re just cool like that.

Growing up I had imagined being an elementary school teacher, I even earned my bachelors degree in the area. Life has a funny way of going in new directions and I’m not a teacher. I was for a brief period of time, and while I don’t teach in a professional setting anymore I deeply enjoy learning and sharing knowledge with others.

My grandmother has been researching our family history for as long as I can remember. I always love hearing the stories that she uncovers, it’s like each story is a tiny piece of me. So far we have a knight in shining arm (who was also an advisor to a King of England), a witch killed during the Connecticut witch trials, and a president named after our relative. As much as I love hearing about our family history, I love listening to her personal life stories even more.
-
I wear jeans almost every day and roughly 90% of my clothes are from J.Crew. I’m slowly branching out, but my favorite pair of black jeans are just too damn comfortable. Oh, I also drink La Croix daily.
-
Instagram is my favorite form of social media. I love it even more when I come across photos and accounts that are taken with their Iphone. It’s amazing the technology that our phones possess and that we can now produce jaw dropping photos practically anywhere at any time, no fancy equipment required.
-
Dance parties are my jam. I love to dance. You love to dance. Did we just become best friends?
-
I own a million (ok, not that many, but a good handful) of lipsticks and lipglosses, but 99.9% of the time I only wear rose bud lip salve – I never leave the house without it.
-
There’s a little furbaby named Alba and she kinda has my heart. She’s my baby girl, my pride and joy. I’ll talk about her like she’s my child and I think everything she does is precious (well, almost everything). Just accept my crazy love for her now.
-
My favorite food is Mexican and I have a weakness for chili cheese fries, ranch dressing, and jalapeno stuffed olives. While we’re on the subject of food, I’d like you to know that I enjoy cooking. Whipping up a good home cooked meal always brings me joy. I have my heart set on learning how to make homemade pasta.

I started my blog to inspire and empower other woman to lead a fulfilling and creative life. Whether it be trying a new recipe, crafting and creating with your hands, sharing home decorating ideas, and injecting your style in to all that you do daily. It’s about trying new things, finding something you are passionate about, evolving, growing, and finding the beauty in the smallest parts of life.
Okay friends, that’s me in a nutshell. I’m so thankful for you and your friendship and all the inspiration that you provide! One of these days let’s get together and sip on that vino okay?
Looking forward to the many years ahead.
xoxo
