Maybe it’s my deep love for tacos (or margaritas) but I love throwing a fun fiesta! With Cinco de Mayo coming up soon it has me thinking of vibrant colors, margaritas, and having a good time outdoors with friends. Over the past couple of years I have done a few posts that are geared towards not just celebrating Cinco de Mayo, but throwing a fiesta of your own.
This fun holiday is Saturday, which means it’s the perfect time to break out your craft supplies and margarita glasses. I have some fun celebratory ideas for ya!
FIESTA LIKE THERE’S NO MANANA || Last year I brought these cups & these colorful straws on my friend’s bachelorette cruise. They are fun, festive, and most importantly reusable. You can check out this post to see how I filled them with bachelorette goodies, but you can use them to serve drinks (I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to this) at your backyard fiesta or as a hostess gift – pop a bottle of mini tequila inside for good measure.
PRINTABLE TRUTH OR DARE CARDS || Who doesn’t love a classic round of good ole truth or dare, I think it helps ya feel young at heart! This game was such a hit on my friend’s bachelorette and I thought you deserved to have some fun too! I’ve created a set of printable truth or dare cards for you to use at your next fiesta gathering – no bride to be required. Just think about all the laughs you’ll have with your friends!
You can download and print your copy of the fiesta truth or dare game cards from THE LIBRARY, my freebies library full of the blog’s best art prints, downloads, and other fun printables. There are 8 game cards in the set – 4 truth and 4 dare. Each set is on an individual 8.5 x 11 inch sheet (4 per page) – print on cardstock, trim, and have fun!
DIY FAUX FLOWER CROWN || A faux flower crown is great for bridal showers, birthday parties, bachelorettes, and baby showers. You can even pair it with a long flowy dress for a boho vibe. The dollar store has a great assortment of faux flowers to choose from. For this faux flower crown, I opted for peonies, asters, ranunculus, and hydrangeas. I tried to stay within a color scheme of pinks and peaches, but you can make it as colorful or monochromatic as you want. Get the step-by-step tutorial here.
GRAPEFRUIT MARGARITA PRINTABLE RECIPE CARD || This fruity margarita has the right amount of tartness and the bubbly from the sparkling water adds a nice refreshing touch. It can be made by the pitcher, great for those afternoon summer bbq’s, or make yourself one and relax with a book on the back porch – now that’s a weekend treat! Read this post to find out the secret to making an amazing margarita and to print yourself a cute recipe card. Grapefruit not your thing? This post has 5 fruity margarita recipes to try out.
Aren’t these great?! I really do love celebrating the small holidays and give me any excuse to have a theme for a gathering and I’m all game. I hope these ideas get you in a festive mood!
Any special ways you celebrate Cinco de Mayo or throw a fiesta? I’d love to hear in the comments below!
