From the early days of this blog I had vowed to be truthful and transparent. Life is not made of only the highlight reel – life is real and sometimes that means life can hurt. Life can be messy. So in honor of that vow I will tell you this truth: I’m not a fan of Thanksgiving. Since I was a teenager it had served as a painful reminder of the mess that those we love can leave in their wake.
As I’ve grown older I’ve started to comes to terms with Thanksgiving and am slowly putting it back in to the friend zone. Making new holiday memories of my own has eased the pain and in those moments of joy I am reminded that life doesn’t have to be perfect to find the beauty within it.
So as I enter this new month, I enter it with a grateful heart. I hope that you will join me in November’s journal prompts geared towards joy and gratitude. Life may not be perfect my friend, but man, it sure is beautiful.
