Ever since Marsala was named Pantone’s Color of the Year at the beginning of this year I have been swooning over it. In full disclosure though, I have been giddy over the color before then just never knowing its true name. Typically I called it burgundy, Merlot, or berry – which are along the Marsala hue color spectrum so I wasn’t far off. The best part of this elegant and grounded color being color of the year is that its no longer like searching for a needle in a haystack to find a piece in this hue. There’s something for everyone whether it be a simple accent to other colors or as a stand-alone confident statement piece.
Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness.” – Pantone Color Institute
I’m drawn to rich tones, especially those that exude an earthy elegance to them. Marsala stands for confidence and stability that can be paired with colors ranging from tan neutrals to blush pinks to deep colors of green and blue. I’ve scoured the internet to find some beautiful pieces that can easily be incorporated in to your everyday life – wearability is extremely important to me. I challenge you to add a little color in to your life or if you’re feeling brave go all out with a statement piece!

-
Earrings – The simple drop style keeps it feminine and classy while the bold glass stone punches the piece up for a not in your face earring.
-
Shoes – I’m all for a good high heel, but they aren’t realistic for my lifestyle so when I found these fun flats my heart skipped a beat. Comfortable and stylish, adding fun to a simple jeans and t-shirt outfit. And those tassels! So fun, right?
-
Clutch – A great way to add a pop of color to your outfit – a simple fold over clutch in a bold hue. I love this clutch’s simplicity; it can take you from day to date night.
-
Nail polish – The universes must be well aware of my love for red wine, so well aware in fact that when I opened November’s issue of People Magazine my nail polish horoscope was, you guessed it – Marsala hued. This deep shade is perfect for any occasion.
-
Sweater – Simply put, I am in love with this cardigan. Just by looking at it, doesn’t it makes you feel all cozy and warm?
-
Necklace – My go to outfit is typically jeans and a t-shirt, this necklace adds some sparkle and elevates the simple look.
-
Hat – In the past I haven’t been much of a hat person, but these wide-brimmed floppy hats are converting me to the other side. I now want one in every shade, with this one being at the top of my wish list {wink, wink hubby}.
-
Dress – Paired with chunky heeled booties this dress can be worn while running errands or chasing your kids outside in the park. Pair it with strappy heels and a statement necklace and you have a comfortable special occasion dress.
-
Desk – At the moment my desk is a fun bright yellow, but this desk has me thinking of an office makeover. Could even be used as a pretty vanity in your bedroom.
-
Lipstick – Perk up your face with a beautiful shade of lipstick that glides on buttery smooth. I’m already planning my Thanksgiving outfit around this pink chocolate color
