I love looking through old photos and taking a walk down memory lane especially those every day moments. With the ability to take photos anywhere at anytime my camera can fill up fast and at the end of the year I like scrolling through and see what happened throughout the year. I love that each of these photos captured a moment in time, some big, some small.
Here’s the highlight reel from 2016:

The year started out celebrating the tiny successes in life and learning that they outweigh the big picture because without them I would never reach the finish line.
Cheers to the small successes in life! They give you the freedom to dream & do & think & see the possibilities everywhere.
The year also pushed me to be more creative and do some DIY projects, like this Wood Bead Necklace:
It’s been quite a process so far and we haven’t made it to the finish line yet, but last January we bought a lot to build our home on! I can’t wait to reveal the our home building process to you through out the upcoming year.

The month of love started with these sweet love notes you can print at home and send to your valentines. Snail mail is the best kind of mail.
I tried a new face mask and loved it. Plus it said to apply until you look like a green sea-monster, ha!
Galentines night out was spent with these amazing ladies. It was a night of ladies celebrating ladies with shopping, makeovers, and a fun photo booth. Plus it was a great way to connect with y’all and hear what friendship means to you.

I finally tried the best breakfast in downtown St. Augustine, The Blue Hen Cafe.
And had fun with my nieces at the Cathedral Fair. When I lived in St. Augustine I looked forward to this fair every spring.
We celebrated Easter and my Hubby’s birthday all on the same day this past year with a nice bike ride around the neighborhood. Bike rides are our jam.

Speaking of birthday’s, my little sister turned 21 and we celebrated with a distillery tour. If you’re ever in St. Augustine, this is a must go place – plus it’s home of the first Florida Bourbon and the delicious Florida Mule – grab the recipe here.
I learned that on the days you feel like you’re adding more to your to-do list than checking things off, and you’re feeling a little overwhelmed, give yourself grace. Give yourself space and time for rest – come back refreshed and rejuvenated.
A visit to the Wynwood walls was amazing as always.

What a magical way to start the month – we went on vacation to the Bahamas and swam with the piggies! It was a dream come true and I fell hard for them.
My sweet niece turned 10 – yay! Double digits!
Which called for a celebration at the happiest place on earth.
Tried these cupcakes from The Yellow Rose Cakery and they were the most heavenly cupcakes I’ve ever had.

We took advantage of Eric’s work perks to relax and wake up to a beautiful beach morning.
We made it through the heat of summer and were looking forward to the fall season.
Unfortunately the weather didn’t seem to get the memo and it was a pretty warm fall, but I still celebrated with pumpkins and apple cider.

The second annual Pink Up The Pace and we dressed in style! Last year was tutus, this year was a pretty in pink 80’s theme. So thankful to have a sister who will dress up in crazy outfits with me.
Sadly, this month brought a hurricane with it so we boarded up and moved the plants inside. Our back porch started looking like a greenhouse so at least it was pretty to look at.
After all the clean up from the hurricane was complete, I walked the runway for Wine Women and Shoes fashion show with this pretty lady. You know we had to practice our blue steel.

Partnered with some fellow small business owners to host a holiday market and released the Tropical Gift Box.
My friend Maria taught me how to take your look from day to night with a glam eye. Perfect for the holiday season. You can learn how to get this look by watching the video tutorial here.
And what better way to end the year than with lazy lunches, games, and family.
Whew! What a year it’s been!
I consider myself very lucky to have such wonderful friends and family to share these special moments with. They are the reason the small moments feel like the big moments. They keep me smiling day in and day out.
Instagram has pushed me to take and share photos more often. It’s a wonderful way to connect with others and I truly believe that friendships can flourish from these little shared squares. If we aren’t Insta-friends already I think we should be, you can find me under the name @eightpepperberries.
I’d love to see your everyday memories too, please feel free to share you Instagram handle with me in the comments below.
Looking forward to a beautiful 2017!
